Ford: Trump tariffs could cost Ontario 500,000 jobs

Doug Ford says U.S. tariffs could cost 500,000 Ontario jobs depending on which sectors are hit. The premiers are meeting with the PM today, but with inauguration day less than a week away Ford is voicing his frustration with the federal government and the lack of a finalized Canadian response plan saying, “I’m going to be blunt: they need to get their act together.”
Crombie calls out Ford’s ‘mandate’ mission
Yesterday we told you how Premier Ford was prepared to go to the polls to ask Ontarians for a new mandate if the province is considering major spending to offset the impact of tariffs. Ontario Liberal leader Bonnie Crombie is now weighing in saying Ford just wants an election to “cling to power”. She made the comments Tuesday on The Greg Brady Show on AM640 Toronto.

The race to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau narrowed further on Tuesday when Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne and former B.C. premier Christy Clark both bowed out, while Government House leader Karina Gould signaled she's in. More cell phone competition on the way
Cogeco says it’s going to start rolling out cell phone services soon and bundle them with its existing wireline products. In the summer, Cogeco inked a deal with an unnamed wireless operator to deliver the service. The company is using a so-called mobile virtual network, which allows it to offer cell service through a rival’s network.
