Will there be tariffs on Tuesday?

Canada’s Internal Trade Minister Anita Anand says Canada will need to wait and see what happens when it comes to tariffs on Tuesday. In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick appeared to indicate that the U.S. is still leaving room for Donald Trump and his team to negotiate, implying that the full 25% tariff might not be implemented immediately.

Show of support for Ukraine

Justin Trudeau joined more than a dozen European leaders in London this weekend in a show of support for Ukraine and its leader, and to discuss ways to support the country. The meeting came days after an angry White House meeting between Ukrainian President Zelensky and U.S. President Trump.

Anand changes mind, will run again

Oakville MP Anita Anand says he’s going to run again. She made the announcement alongside a visit to the riding by Mark Carney. In January, she announced she wasn’t going to run but now says she can’t step away as circumstances have changed with the threat of tariffs and open talk about annexing the country.

Are sprouted potatoes safe?

According to the team at Delish: “If your potato is just starting to sprout, and the root is still firm and wrinkle-free, you can simply cut off the sprouts and cook the potatoes as normal. But if the sprouts are over an inch long or the potatoes are shriveled, you're better off tossing them entirely.” That’s because the spouts are high in glycoalkaloids which can be toxic to humans and give the potatoes a bitter taste.

Don’t stick a Q-Tip in it

“Don’t stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ear,” a doctor tells Men’s Health in an article about the right way to remove ear wax. The article says most ear wax is healthy and doesn’t need to be cleaned regularly, but a damp wash cloth is usually the best approach.

AND… ANOTHER THING!

How does Guinness do that?

With St. Patrick’s Day around the corner, you might be looking forward to a can of Guinness. But, did you ever wonder what the thing is at the bottom of the can that looks like a ping-pong ball? Food & Wine explains that it’s a small, plastic ball that helps replace the nitrogen effect you’d get if the drink was poured at a bar from a tap.
