There’s no specific threat, but federal, state and local law enforcement agencies “remain concerned” that New Year's celebrations in Times Square could be targeted by people seeking to carry out large protests or acts of violence.

Three suspects arrested in yet another jewelry store robbery at Fairview Mall

Three youths are now under arrest after a jewelry store at Fairview Mall was robbed for the second time this month. Suspects were reportedly armed with hammers. Police updating the investigation on X.

Changes coming to 407 tomorrow

A number of rate changes kick in on the 407 tomorrow, which the toll route’s operator says will cost the majority of personal transponder customers about an extra $8/month. There will now be 12 zones across the highway instead of 4 allowing rates to be set based on traffic volumes and flow. Rates will increase between 3 and 14 cents per kilometre and other fees like camera charges, account and transponder fees are also going up.

Toronto police warn of threatening GTA fraud and extortion scam

In a public safety notice on Monday, police said the scam involves threatening phone calls and text messages containing "graphic violent images" from American phone numbers.

Hamilton Police say a bank robber had his escape plan foiled by a bike bandit.  The suspect entered a BMO branch, passed a note demanding cash and threatened staff.  He fled empty-handed, but when he headed outside to get on his bike, he discovered another thief had stolen it!  He ran away instead, and police are still looking for him.

Debris found on runway at St. John's airport could be connected to rough landing in Halifax

The TSB has been ‘made aware’ of the debris found at St John's International Airport and will be examining it as part of their investigation into an Air Canada Express rough landing in Halifax Saturday.

Ministry of Labour investigating industrial accident on Toronto set of "Beast Games"

The ministry says a worker was injured by falling wood on the set, a miniature village constructed for the show on the grounds of the former Downsview Airport.
