Scrambling to find care for the kids?

Some daycares plan to shut today in protest of the $10/day childcare program. They say the program is making their businesses unsustainable.

Mask up

UHN Hospitals (Toronto General, Toronto Western, Princess Margaret, Toronto Rehab, and the Michener Institute) are requiring everyone to mask up as of October 28th as respiratory virus season kicks in. They’ll be optional in common areas like food courts and lobbies.

Toronto taxpayers are on the hook for $5.6-million dollars to replace almost half-a-million failing water meter transmitters. The failing devices mean the meters can’t wirelessly relay usage from homes and businesses, so lots of residents are now being billed based on historical usage.

Seems there’s a new travel trend – taking a vacation with the plan to get some decent shut eye. One recent survey showed sleeping was the #1 activity most Americans plan to do on their next vacation. Some resorts are now focusing on “sleep tourism”.
