One big investment house in the U.S. is saying now is “the largest generational opportunity to invest in real estate in a long time”. They’re focused mainly on investments in things like commercial and multi-unit rentals in the U.S. The thinking is driven by the prediction that other assets like stocks and bonds are going to cool off, and there’s a chance to buy-in now on a slow real estate market.
Climate change and Collingwood Airbnbs
Climate change and its mild winters are seen as big threats to Canadian ski resorts. The Logic reports that it’s already having an impact on vacation rentals. It found that Airbnb occupancy rates in Collingwood were 37% last season. They say that’s the lowest rate in seven years.
