Prepaid funeral funny business
There have been a few recent cases in Canada of prepaid funeral funds being mishandled. But did you know that in Ontario, families are 100% protected by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, which covers contracts in case something goes wrong.
“False discounts”
A class action suit has been filed in Canada against Gap and Old Navy that alleges that the stores “rarely, if ever, offer to sell their products at the represented regular price and instead always, or almost always, offer these products at the so-called discount price.” The retailer says it doesn’t “comment on pending litigation.”

New program for first responders
The province is launching a new $32-million program to provide mental health support to police officers, correctional workers, paramedics and fire fighters. It’s also creating a strategy to help deal with any stigma about asking for help.
