Top of the morning! First snowfall of the season today with 5-6cm of snow expected over a 12-15 hour period.

First GTA wallop of winter
A winter weather travel advisory is in effect for the city and the rest of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, advising of snow accumulations near five centimetres today.
Meanwhile…folks to the north can expect another snow thrashing

Round two is on the way for Muskoka area as snow squalls coming off the Great Lakes are expected to bring heavy snow to a swath of the province.
Flying out today?
Toronto Pearson is ready for the snow! More than 100 pieces of specialized equipment are at the ready to clear snow from runways. Make sure you monitor your airline for any flight adjustments and also check on torontopearson.com.
Auditor rips Ontario Place redevelopment
The Auditor general says the cost of the project surged by $1.8B and the process for picking tenants wasn’t transparent or fair.
Ad spending spree
The Auditor general also says the province spent three times more money on government advertising last year than it did the year before. She also thought many of the ads were partisan.
Walking pneumonia surge
The numbers are in, and the province has been seeing a massive increase in walking pneumonia cases. 733 tests have come back positive in the province so far this year. That compares to just 23 last year.

Canada Post says it’s axed its deadline for letters to Santa, which was this Friday. Once the strike is over, they’ll still get the letters there, but there’s no guarantee when you’ll hear back.
