The Bank of Canada unveils its latest decision on interest rates at 8:45 this morning.  A lot of analysts are expecting a half-percentage point cut.

Hunt on for masked suspects who fired a gun in Etobicoke school stairwell

The shot was fired during a busy afternoon at the school. Two masked suspects took off from Silverthorn CI. Toronto Police Guns and Gangs unit is now investigating. Students will be returning to class today, with community police officers on scene.

Heading to the polls in 2025?

No surprise, but the Canadian Press reports that Queen’s Park is buzzing with election speculation for the new year. Fast tracking of bills, rebate cheques, and the Premier refusing to rule out an early election are fueling the chatter.

York Police arrest 17 people following home invasions

Police allege they were part of a bigger criminal network planning home invasions, armed robberies and trafficking drugs. They laid 83 charges and recovered $14-million worth of drugs.

Great State of Canada: Trump

Donald Trump keeps calling Canada a state. Now on his Truth Social platform, he’s calling Justin Trudeau its Governor, and looking forward to talking more about tariffs and trade.

Doug says we’re actually a threat to them!

The Premier stood firm against proposed tariffs during Question Period on Tuesday, saying “you wonder why the President-Elect Trump wants to put tariffs? Because we're a threat to the U.S. Because we're a manufacturing powerhouse. We created more manufacturing jobs last year than all 50 U.S. states combined.” You can watch the Premier’s words at the 12:30 mark in the video above.

Accused CEO killer in court

The man accused of killing the CEO of UnitedHealthcare in Manhattan appeared in a Pennsylvania court. He’s fighting extradition to New York to face the charges.
