Mark Carney is starting the week off in Europe. Heās meeting with the French President and UK Prime Minister. The PMO says the purpose of the visit will be to āfocus on their shared commitment to build stronger economic, commercial, and defence ties.ā

In an interview with Fox News Sunday, Canadaās Ambassador to the U.S. said the Canadian side has reached out to the U.S. since Mark Carney was sworn in as prime minister Friday and was "looking forward" to connecting with President Trump. Kirsten Hillman says Carney wants to "forge a good and solid relationship" with the president.
Mississauga removing U.S. flags from buildings, replace with oversized Canadian flags

Mississauga has started removing American flags from its facilities and plans to install giant Canadian symbols. Mayor Carolyn Parrish says the move has come āat the request of many.ā
TTC fare inspections begin on buses
You might see fare inspectors on TTC busses starting today. Riders could be asked to provide proof of payment as the TTC works to crack down on fare evaders. The inspectors already patrol streetcars and subways. The TTC says adding the busses could help protect some of the $140 million lost yearly to people who donāt pay up!
Inflation number due Tuesday
StatsCanās next inflation report is due tomorrow, and itās expected to show the annual rate rose in February as the GST/HST tax holiday wrapped up. Experts are predicting the rate with come in between 2.2 and 2.5%, which compares to 1.9% in January.
9,000 jobs on the line at The Bay
Hudsonās Bay is planning to liquidate its business pending a court appearance today. A closure means its 9,364 employees will lose their jobs. The company says itās been trying to land financing to keep going but has been unsuccessful so far.
