The L.A. District Attorney has recommended resentencing for Lyle and Erik Menendez, which could see them eligible for parole immediately.

There is a TTC subway closure in effect along Line 2 this weekend between Vic Park and Kennedy stations. The TTC also says New Year’s Eve will be the last day to use your tickets, tokens, and day passes. They’re being phased out.

The taxman likes Airbnb
Seems the taxman will now be watching to see if you regularly Airbnb out your home or condo. If you do so consistently, The Star reports you’ll now have to pay 13% HST on the entire sale price of the property when you sell it. That’s because it’ll now be considered a commercial use of the property rather than a residential one.

There doesn’t appear to be a clear conclusion on how well it works – a Stanford study says remote work is 10% less productive, while Statscan data shows it made public sector workers 4.5% more productive.
