Teachers beware: They’re watching those sick days
The Toronto Star reports that some school boards in Toronto are using private investigators to catch and fire teachers who abuse sick days. The Star says five teachers at one school were let go after calling in sick and hitting the casino.

The Tokyo government is introducing a four-day work week for its employees to try to boost record-low fertility rates. They’re figuring this will give families more flexibility, and ensure no one has to give up their career when having a child.

Reports are emerging of animals dying from the bird flu virus. Public Health authorities in Los Angels are investigating the deaths of two cats that consumed recalled raw milk. And at the Wildlife World Zoo in Maricopa County, Arizona, some resident animals have reportedly died after becoming infected with bird flu.
