All TDSB schools and sites are closed today due to the weather forecast. In addition, Friday, February 14, is PA Day for all students, and Monday, February 17, is Family Day. Enjoy your first #SnowDay of the year, and we'll see you on Tuesday!

The snow will end this morning, but the morning commute is being significantly impacted and making travel difficult. OPP are advising drivers to stay home if you can.

Airlines report delays and cancellations as Toronto Pearson teams power through the storm
Snow continues to fall at the airport with another 2 to 5 cm forecasted for this morning.
At the airport, 22 cm of snow fell as of 6:30 a.m. This is the heaviest snowfall of the season, taking the record from the 15 cm of snow we saw on Feb. 8.

13 Premiers head to Washington, D.C.
All of the Premiers are in the U.S. capital showing a united front in the fight against President Donald Trump’s tariffs. They’ll be meeting with Trump’s deputy chief of staff for legislative affairs, according to CBC News.
Trump and Putin talk
The two presidents spoke for about 90 minutes on the phone about restarting negotiations. They also plan a face to face meeting at some point.
On the provincial campaign trail
🟦 PC Leader Doug Ford is in Washington, D.C. talking tariffs.
🟥 Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie is promising to pay nurses and PSWs more as part of a plan to end hallway medicine.
🟧 NDP Leader Marit Stiles had no public events.
Coyote complaints continue in Liberty Village
CTV News reports that residents in Liberty Village and Fort York say there have been 42 coyote incidents in the area since November, which includes people being chased or dogs getting hurt. The local councillor says the coyotes are being displaced from Ontario Place, but the Ministry of the Environment says there’s no evidence of that.

Mortgage Professional America has an article on how pre-construction condo buyers in Toronto who bought a couple of years ago at the market’s peak are now seeing appraisals that are 10-30% below their purchase price. The drop in value is causing financing issues for several buyers who are choosing to walk away from their deposits and potentially face legal action by the developer.
