Bus ban on e-bikes?
The TTC is considering a winter ban on e-scooters and e-bikes due to potential battery fire risks made worse by salty roads. If approved, the ban would apply to TTC property and vehicles.
Bike vs car debate
As the province tables its new legislation on bike lanes, a study done for the UK government finds bike lanes don’t increase traffic congestion after all. The research concludes that if you put in more lanes for cars, eventually it encourages more people to drive, clogging up roads a few years later. The study also concludes that more bike lanes generally result in more cyclists on the road too.

If you shop at Metro or Food Basics, you’re about to get a new rewards program. It’s called Moi Rewards and it launches Thursday. It comes after Metro’s split with Air Miles as its reward program provider. You can also link the rewards to some RBC cards.
Disappearing down payments
A group of 117 homebuyers are out about $4-million in down payments on their new build homes as the developer enters receivership. It’s alleged the developer was selling homes without the legal approvals to do so and told CBC News it was a “calculated risk”.

The new system blasts a sound if you scan your boarding card too early at the gate, and the agent gets a message telling them which boarding group you’re supposed to be in.
