Loonie lows
One expert says the Canadian dollar will stay weak for the rest of the year but could head higher in 2025. If Canada can negotiate its way out of expected upcoming U.S. tariffs, the loonie could recover.
Mortgage rates roll down
Three-year fixed mortgage rates headed lower again last week to about 4%. One expert says the market is keeping a close eye on bond yields which help determine mortgage rates. Yields are up since the U.S. election, meaning potential risk for lower fixed mortgage rates in the future.

Several brands of organic carrots including President’s Choice and Compliments are being recalled. The U.S. FDA says one person has died and 39 have become sick due to E.coli infections. You can check out all the brands being recalled here.
Stroke spike
UK health bosses are concerned about a big increase in strokes in younger people. In two decades, the number of people in their 50’s experiencing a stroke increased by 55%. There’s also been a 28% increase across the general population. Lifestyle factors are believed to be a major cause.
