Environment Canada: More heavy, blowing snow on way for GTHA
Winter weather travel advisories are in effect for Toronto and much of the GTA with a brief burst of heavy snow and local blowing snow for the morning commute. This, after a few centimetres of snow fell in Toronto Tuesday night, making the evening commute a huge headache for anyone trying to get around.

Doug Ford has visited Lieutenant Governor Edith Dumont and the election has officially started. He says he needs a new mandate to deal with tariff threats. The opposition says it’s a waste and he’s just trying to take advantage of good poll numbers. We’ll vote on February 27th.

Krista Ford Haynes, the eldest daughter of Premier Ford, has launched an online fundraiser to help her husband in his disciplinary battle with the Toronto Police Service.
Massive waterfront investment
The city, provincial, and federal governments are teaming up to invest $975-million in Toronto’s waterfront revitalization plan. The project will help create 14,000 new homes in the area, and is expected to create 100,000 skilled trades jobs. The goal is for the first homes to be ready in 2031.
No “traitors”
The Foreign Interference Commission has concluded there is no evidence of any “traitors” in parliament conspiring with other governments. The author had some concerns about poor judgement, questionable ethics, and problematic relationships with foreign officials, but says there is “no cause for widespread alarm”.
A different Trudeau career path
Justin Trudeau’s 17-year-old son Xavier is dropping his first R&B song on February 21st. It’s called “Til The Nights Done.”

Another cut today?
Experts tell Yahoo! Finance that any Bank of Canada cut today is likely going to be overshadowed by a coming trade war. Tariffs and counter tariffs are expected to drive inflation higher which would normally call for higher interest rates. But those same tariffs will also likely lead to an economic slowdown and higher unemployment which would usually lead the bank to cut rates. An expert tells Yahoo!: “There are just many unknowns right now.”
AI stocks rebound
Shares in tech stocks stabilised on Tuesday after taking a hit on Monday following Chinese AI company DeepSeek’s comments that its model was made at a fraction of the cost of its U.S. competitors. The news raised questions about the global dominance of the U.S. AI industry, but experts tell BBC News that Monday’s stock sell-off might have been a overreaction.
