Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Toronto and GTA warning of reduced visibility at times in heavy snow this morning. We could see 2 to 5 cm of snow today. And more on the way Friday!
Tariffs: Another date change?
So, what’s going on with Trump’s tariffs? The U.S. President now says his tariffs on Canada will come into effect on April 2nd, but a White House official says the original date of March 4th is still planned but things can always change. The news gave the Canadian dollar and Mexican Peso a boost.
Conservatives go after Carney’s credibility
Mark Carney got caught lying.

The Conservatives allege Liberal leadership front runner Mark Carney misled Canadians when talking about his role in moving Brookfield Asset Management’s HQ from Toronto to New York. Carney says the decision was made after he left the company, but the Conservatives say public records show it was made while he was still with the company.

Thankfully no one was hurt when a section of a parking garage collapsed in downtown Ottawa. Firefighters say someone called 911 to report damage to a column in the garage on Tuesday night, and when they inspected it found several support girders “bowing”. Around 50 vehicles are stuck inside the structure.
Pope: “Slight improvement”
The Vatican says Pope Francis is showing continued “slight improvement” after almost two weeks in hospital with pneumonia and a kidney problem. His prognosis hasn’t been shared, but the kidney issue is said to have been resolved. The above photo is the most recent posted to the Pope’s Instagram account three days ago.
Pride Toronto sponsors pull cash
Pride Toronto says it’s facing a cash crunch of $300,000 after some of its major sponsors pulled their funding. The festival says it’s been told by some of its funders that the U.S. election and a shift away from DEI programs is behind the move. Pride won’t name the companies, and says it’ll still put on the festival this year.
Actor Gene Hackman, wife and dog found dead in home

Oscar-winning Actor Gene Hackman, known for his iconic roles in The French Connection and Superman, has died. He was 95. Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were found dead in their Santa Fe home , along with their dog. Foul play is not suspected, but a cause of death has not yet been released.
Gossip Girl and Buffy star dies
Michelle Trachtenberg has died at the age of 39. The actress starred in Gossip Girl, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Harriet the Spy. She was found dead at an apartment building in New York, and no criminal involvement is suspected.

An unknown illness believed to be tied to three children who ate a bat has hit remote villages in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. There have been 431 cases and 53 deaths so far and doctors investigating the situation are worried about how short the interval is between initial symptoms and death at just 48 hours.
